Our topic for Tuesday, April 25, 2023; 3:00 -4:00 pm EDT
The Future of US - China Exchanges

For many years, China dominated the International Education landscape in the US. The large number of Chinese students (many of whom were self financed) drove international student recruitment strategies for many universities and colleges. At the same time, education abroad for US students also increased dramatically over the past decade.  For several reasons, the number of Chinese students has decreased over the past few years and there are no signs that it will ever bounce back to pre-pandemic levels.  Education abroad has seen similar decreases and there are no indications if it will bounce back in the coming years.

What is the future of US-China exchange? What should higher education institutions focus upon as they develop their strategies with this complex and important area? What are some new models for exchange?
